Felipe Hernandez - Swope Park Rangers vs. Phoenix Rising FC

Swope Park Rangers midfielder Felipe Hernandez earned USL Team of The Week Honors after a standout performance in the squad’s 2-0 victory against Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Thursday.

Hernandez recorded his first goal of the season from 30 yards out, completed 34 of 41 passes and recorded four tackles to lead SPR to their second straight win.

Playing in 15 matches with 1,058 minutes logged for the Rangers, Hernandez has made 13 starts and has over an 80 percent passing accuracy rate. The 20-year-old Sporting KC Academy product has played a crucial role in leading the team to fourth place in the USL Western at the halfway point of the 2018 season.

The Rangers will take on Sacramento Republic FC tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT at Children’s Mercy Park. Tickets are available at SeatGeek.com or at the stadium box office prior to kickoff. This game is a rematch of last year’s USL Western Conference semifinal, which saw SPR prevail 1-0 on a goal from Kharlton Belmar.
