Sporting Kansas City II goalkeeper Brooks Thompson has been nominated for the USL Championship Save of the Week for Week 4 of the 2020 season.
Thompson, 18, made his just his second professional start on Saturday night in a 2-1 loss on the road to Indy Eleven. The Sporting KC Academy product tied the league’s season high with nine saves on the day, including a stunning stop to tip a goalbound header from Nick Moon onto the underside of the crossbar and out.
Thompson and Sporting II are back in action this Saturday night when the side travels to take on Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
