Sporting KC II announced today that the team’s regular season home match against the Tacoma Defiance, originally scheduled for July 22 and previously rescheduled to Sept. 1, has been moved back to July 22 at 7 p.m. CT and will now be played at Swope Soccer Village.
With the schedule change, SKC II will play five matches in July, opening the month at home against North Texas SC before hitting the road for matches against Rapids 2 and Real Monarchs. SKC II will then return home for the match against Tacoma before heading back out for an away match against North Texas SC.
Swope Soccer Village will serve as SKC II’s home field starting with the July 22 match, as the club returns to the field where it all began. From 2016-2018, SKC II played a majority of their home matches at Swope, winning two USL Championship Conference titles in that span.
Fresh off a 1-0 victory at Dynamo Dos, SKC II is back at Rock Chalk Park for a rematch with St. Louis CITY2 on Friday at 7 p.m. CT in the club’s penultimate match in Lawrence. As a part of MLS NEXT Pro’s Game of the Week, this match will receive an enhanced broadcast and can be streamed for free at MLSNEXTPro.com. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com as SKC II looks to keep their impressive run of form in MLS NEXT Pro going.
