Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has mutually agreed to part ways with defender Aljaz Dzankic and forward Yeison Mejia.
Dzankic, 21, joined Sporting KC II ahead of the 2021 USL Championship season and tallied 14 appearances in his first year with the club. As a member of SKC II’s inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season, the Croatian youth international suffered a torn ACL and missed all but three matches. This season he has made one appearance.
Mejia, 25, signed with SKC II ahead of the 2023 campaign. The Honduran international made four appearances for the team this season.
Sporting KC II will take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Friday night at Swangard Stadium before returning home to Rock Chalk Park on Thursday, June 15 to face Tacoma Defiance. Kickoff for this Friday’s match is set for 9 p.m. CT with a live stream on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
