Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed 19-year-old forward Medgy Alexandre to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract ahead of the 2024 season.
Alexandre has enjoyed a strong 2024 preseason campaign with Sporting KC II, notably scoring a goal in a 5-2 win over the University of Missouri-Kansas City on Feb. 24 at Swope Soccer Village. The winger joins SKC II after developing in the CF Montreal academy for the last several years.
Born in Miami, Florida, Alexandre grew up in Montreal, Canada and worked his way into the CF Montreal youth system, where he was one of the top U-17 goal scorers nationally during the 2019-20 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season. He rose from the U-17 to the U-23 ranks during his time with the club, competing in Ligue1 Quebec during the 2023 season and helping Montreal to a 12-4-6 record in the Canadian third division.
Led by head coach and Sporting Kansas City great Benny Feilhaber, Sporting KC II will open the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign on March 17 by visiting Houston Dynamo 2 for the first of 28 regular season matches. The club is looking to go a step further in 2024 after reaching the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs for the first time last fall. Tickets for Sporting KC II home games are on sale now at SeatGeek.com, with 10 fixtures to be played at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas, and four at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
