Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed Sporting Kansas City Academy goalkeeper Jacob Molinaro to an MLS NEXT Pro amateur contract.
MLS NEXT Pro amateur contracts are on a single-game basis, preserving Molinaro's NCAA eligibility. He will be available for selection on Sunday for Sporting Kansas City II's match against Ventura County FC.
Molinaro joined the Sporting Kansas City Academy in 2019 at the U-13 age group. The 17-year-old has represented the club at almost every level, competing for the U-13s, U-14s, U-15s and U-17s. He played for the U-17s at MLS NEXT Fest and played a major role in their 2023 MLS NEXT Playoff Qualification. Molinaro has attended two Sporting KC first-team preseasons including the 2024 preseason in Miami.
