Sporting Kansas City midfielder Erik Thommy is one of four nominees for MLS Goal of the Matchday with fan voting taking place on Twitter . Making his 50th career regular season start for the club, Thommy scored twice on Saturday in front of 72,610 fans at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The 29-year-old German opened the scoring with a superb shot in the sixth minute then leveled the score at 2-2 in the 58th minute with a stunning volley. Thommy, who has appeared in 54 straight regular season matches since making his debut in July 2022, now has a team-leading three goals this season.

Sporting Kansas City will release single-match tickets at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday for the club's final nine matches of the MLS regular season campaign, a slate that begins June 8 with a match-up against the Seattle Sounders and concludes with a visit by LAFC on Oct. 5. VICTORY PROJECT SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE ON WEDNESDAY
Wednesday is the deadline for high school seniors to apply for The Victory Project Emerging Sports Leaders Scholarship . The Victory Project will award four scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each to provide financial assistance for students with post-secondary education plans at a university, college, trade or vocational school whose lives have been impacted by the sport of soccer. Applicants will be notified of their selection by May 8.

U.S. OPEN CUP ROUND OF 32 DRAW ON THURSDAY
Sporting Kansas City will be one of eight Major League Soccer teams to participate in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and will enter in the Round of 32, which will be played on May 7 and May 8. U.S. Soccer will conduct the official draw for the Round of 32 at 12 p.m. CT on Thursday with a live stream available on USsoccer.com and U.S. Soccer's YouTube channel. Major League Soccer teams will only play lower division opponents in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. open Cup until it cannot be avoided.

Sporting KC Youth Soccer will host one-day camps from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday at Central Bank Sporting Complex in Kansas City, Missouri and the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex in Olathe, Kansas. The camps are open to boys and girls of all skill levels between the ages of 5-14 with registration available online.
