Sporting Kansas City enters the final week of its 2016 preseason, presented by Children's Mercy, with two Desert Diamond Cup matches at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. The club will face the Colorado Rapids at 9 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Kino North Stadium - with a live stream available on SportingKC.com - before meeting an opponent to be determined in Saturday's placement match.
Sporting KC opened the preseason tournament last week with a 2-2 draw against Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday and a 1-1 stalemate with the New England Revolution on Saturday. Players and coaches will travel back to Kansas City on Sunday ahead of their 2016 MLS regular season opener at Seattle Sounders FC on March 6.
The Swope Park Rangers continue preparation for their inaugural season in the United Soccer League with two final matches in the Desert Diamond Cup. The Rangers square off with Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT and FC Tucson on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT. Both matches will be played at the Kino Sports Complex Grandstand Field, with a live stream of Saturday's contest on SportingKC.com. The club won its first-ever match last Wednesday, defeating MLS club Colorado Rapids 3-1, before tying Arizona United SC 0-0 on Saturday.
Swope Park Rangers single-game tickets for all 15 regular season home games will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.com. The Rangers will play 13 home matches at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village and two home games at Children's Mercy Park. No Other Pub, a new flagship restaurant and entertainment concept in the Kansas City Power & Light District, will hold its grand opening on Monday at 4 p.m. CT. Located at 1370 Grand Blvd. on the second level of the Kansas City Live! Block, No Other Pub is a collaboration between Sporting KC, The Cordish Companies and Entertainment Consulting International.

On Saturday, the Sporting Kansas City Academy will play its first home games of 2016 when the U-18s and U-16s host Lonestar SC at Swope Soccer Village (6310 Lewis Rd., Kansas City, MO). The U-18s will kick off at 9 a.m. CT before the U-16s conclude the doubleheader at 11:30 a.m. CT. Admission is free and open to the public.
