Sporting Kansas City will take on a pair of fellow MLS charter clubs this week as the team hosts the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday at Children's Mercy Park before returning to the road to play the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday at PayPal Park.
Wednesday's match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT as Sporting Kansas City and the Colorado Rapids meet for the second time this season. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Sporting Kansas City poster courtesy of the club's First Team partners. Tickets are available online at SeatGeek.com, including the Coca-Cola Family and Friends Pack. The special offer features four South Stand tickets, four 20-ounce Coca-Cola products and four Domino’s six-inch cheese or pepperoni pizzas for only $25 per ticket.
Sporting Kansas City will return to the road to face the San Jose Earthquakes at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sunday at PayPal Park.Sporting KC pub partners across the Midwest will be showing the match including an enhanced watch party at the Chicken N Pickle locations in North Kansas City, Mo., and Wichita, Kan., featuring prizes and giveaways for attendees.
Both Western Conference match-ups will be locally televised on 38 The Spot with three hours of coverage beginning 30 minutes prior to kick off. The broadcasts will also stream live on SportingKC.com and in the Sporting KC app for viewers in Kansas and Missouri (excluding St. Louis area per MLS policy), as well as ESPN+ for out-of-market subscribers.
SKC ACADEMY IN ACTION
After the Sporting KC Academy U-19's concluded their participation in the MLS NEXT Flex competition earlier today, the SKC Academy U-15's and U-17's will wrap up the tournament on Tuesday. The U-15's are in first place in Group L with wins over New York Soccer Club and Santa Barbara Soccer Club and will play Weston FC at 7:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday. The U-17's will play LA Surf Soccer Club at 9:45 a.m. CT on Tuesday in their Group D finale.
On Saturday, the SKC Academy U-14's, U-15's, U-17's and U-19's will conclude their MLS NEXT regular season campaigns with matches against FC Dallas at Swope Soccer Village. The U-14's and U-19's will kick off the doubleheader at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the U-15's and U-17's at 11 a.m. CT. All four matches are free and open to the public, and fans can follow @SKCAcademy on Twitter for in-game updates from all Sporting Kansas City Academy matches.
