SPORTING KC ENDS ROAD SWING TONIGHT AT VANCOUVER
Sporting KC (4-4-0, 12 points) ends a three-game road swing Wednesday against Vancouver Whitecaps FC (3-4-1, 10 points) at BC Place. The match will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT with three hours of live television coverage on 38 The Spot and SKCTV beginning at 9 p.m. CT. Local radio broadcasts will also be available on 99.3 FM and La Grande 1340 AM, and The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show will air on Sports Radio 810 WHB immediately following the contest.
Manager Peter Vermes' men have lost their last three matches, but own a six-game winning streak against Canadian MLS teams since the start of 2015. That run includes three victories against seventh-place Vancouver, who sit one spot behind Sporting KC in the Western Conference table. Sporting KC is unbeaten in its last five regular season visits to the Pacific Northwest — also including Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders FC — with shutouts in every game.
SPORTING KC BACK HOME SUNDAY TO FACE LA GALAXY
Following Wednesday's fixture in Canada, Sporting KC will return home to face LA Galaxy (4-1-2, 14 points) at 7 p.m. CT Sunday at Children's Mercy Park. The game will be televised nationally on FS1 and FOX Deportes, with live radio broadcasts airing on Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM. A limited number of tickets for the marquee matchup are available via Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL, and the first 10,000 fans through the gates on Sunday will receive free sunglasses courtesy of Sabates Eye Centers. The Final Whistle: Sporting KC Postgame Show will air after the match on 810 AM.
LA Galaxy lead MLS with 17 goals through seven games and ride a five-game unbeaten run into Sunday's contest. The five-time MLS Cup champions are coming off a pair of emphatic wins, defeating the Houston Dynamo 4-1 on April 15 and cruising past Real Salt Lake 5-2 on Saturday. However, LA is winless in four visits to Children's Mercy Park (0-3-1) and hasn't won in Kansas City since 2007.
