SPORTING KC STAYS PERFECT WITH 1-0 WIN OVER TORONTO FC
Sporting KC continued its perfect start to the 2016 MLS season with a 1-0 victory over Toronto FC on Sunday at Children's Mercy Park. Second-half substitute Brad Davis scored the game-winning goal as Sporting KC moved atop the Supporters' Shield standings and became the only MLS club with a 3-0-0 record through Week 3.
Davis, a 15-year MLS veteran who joined Sporting KC from the Houston Dynamo in January, provided the breakthrough in the 70th minute of a tightly contested affair between 2015 playoff teams. Goalkeeper Tim Melia made four saves, including three after halftime, to give the hosts their second shutout of the season before a capacity crowd of 19,867. (Full story)

SWOPE PARK RANGERS SET FOR INAUGURAL MATCH SATURDAY AT CHILDREN'S MERCY PARK
The Swope Park Rangers will kick off their inaugural season in the United Soccer League on Saturday, hosting Portland Timbers 2 at Children's Mercy Park. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT and tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL. Saturday's historic match will also be streamed live on SportingKC.com.
Sporting Club announced the formation of the Swope Park Rangers last October. The Rangers are closely integrated within Sporting Club’s short-term and long-term strategic goals, providing a pathway to the professional level for players in the Sporting KC Academy and a proving ground for players on loan from Sporting KC.
MATT BESLER JOINS U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Sporting KC captain Matt Besler has been named to the United States Men's National Team's 26-player roster for a pair of upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala. The U.S. will travel to face Guatemala on Friday at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez in Guatemala City (9 p.m. CT, beIN Sports, NBC Universo) before hosting the return fixture on Tuesday at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio (6 p.m. CT, ESPN2, UniMas, UDN). ROGER ESPINOZA JOINS HONDURAS MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Sporting KC midfielder Roger Espinoza has been named to the Honduras Men's National Team's 24-man roster ahead of two World Cup qualifying matches against El Salvador. Honduras will travel to face El Salvador on Friday before hosting the return leg on Tuesday at Estadio Olympic Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula. Both games will kick off at 8 p.m. CT. (Full story)
SONI MUSTIVAR JOINS HAITI MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Sporting KC midfielder Soni Mustivar has been named to the Haiti Men's National Team's 23-man roster ahead of two World Cup qualifying matches against Panama. SPORTING KC ACADEMY UNBEATEN AT GENERATION ADIDAS CUP
The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-16s are in Frisco, Texas, this week for the 2016 Generation adidas Cup, an annual elite youth tournament for academy teams from the United States and abroad. Led by head coach Jon Parry, the U-16s went 2-0-1 in Group D of the tournament's Premier Division, beating the Portland Timbers and the New England Revolution before falling to Mexican side CF Monterrey in a penalty shootout.
