Swope Park Rangers defender Jimmy Mulligan has been recalled by the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League (NASL). Mulligan was loaned to SPR on March 4 having made a handful of appearances for the Cosmos over the last two years.
Mulligan, 24, started 16 of the Rangers’ 18 games this season and played the full 90 minutes in each of SPR’s three shutouts. Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC was the first game this season that the Medford, N.Y. native failed to appear.
The Swope Park Rangers are back in action on Saturday, July 23 when the side hosts Orange County Blues FC at Swope Soccer Village, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT. The Rangers will be hosting Pokémon at the Park during that game, with Pokémon GO users encouraged to arrive early for a guided Pokémon hunt. Tickets are available at SportingKC.com/July23.
