Alekzandur has successfully qualified for eMLS League Series One presented by Coca Cola, the first premier event on the eMLS calendar in 2021.
Sporting Kansas City's professional FIFA gamer punched his ticket to the marquee tournament after grabbing the eighth and final berth on Wednesday night, finishing the two-week qualifying round with an 8-4-2 record. Alekzandur was particularly clutch down the stretch, winning four of his last five qualifiers to stay in the top eight.
The League Series One quarterfinals will stream live beginning at 2 p.m. CT Saturday on twitch.tv/mls, @MLS on Twitter and the free MLS app. Alekzandur's remaining matches will also stream on twitch.tv/sportingkcgaming, including his mouthwatering quarterfinal showdown against top-seeded xbLeU from Austin FC.
The tournament's four semifinalists will then square off beginning at 2 p.m. CT Sunday on the same streaming platforms, with the winners advancing to the Grand Final. All matchups this weekend will be contested in a two-legged, aggregate goal format.
Boasting a prize pool of $15,000, League Series One is the first of three major FIFA 21 events to highlight the eMLS calendar. League Series Two will take place Feb. 13-14 and the 2021 eMLS Cup is scheduled for March 20-21.
