One of the hottest attackers in Major League Soccer has been nominated for MLS Player of the Week following a full slate of Week 9 action on Wednesday night.
Sporting Kansas City Winger Daniel Salloi delivered arguably the best performance of his career in a 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids at Children's Mercy Park, scoring two first-half goals and assisting Felipe Hernandez's first career MLS strike in the 64th minute.
Salloi now ranks third in MLS with six goals this season and is tied for second with nine combined goals and assists. His influential displays have helped Sporting to a league-leading 20 goals overall and a second-place position in the Western Conference table, four points behind Supporters' Shield leaders Seattle Sounders FC.
Supporters can vote Salloi for MLS Player of the Week by engaging in the Twitter poll below.
Salloi and Sporting (6-3-2, 20 points) will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they host star-studded LAFC (3-3-3, 12 points) in a 4:30 p.m. CT showdown at Children's Mercy Park. A limited number of tickets for the match are available at SeatGeek.com and the contest will be shown live nationally on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and the ESPN app. Listeners can also catch local broadcasts on Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish).
