Sporting Kansas City heads into tonight’s pivotal matchup against Vancouver Whitecaps FC with one new name on the club’s injury report.
Captain Matt Besler is listed as questionable for today’s clash with a head/face injury sustained in the 2-1 victory over the LA Galaxy last Sunday. Midfielder Soni Mustivar joins Besler in the questionable category as he steps up his rehabilitation from a hamstring strain that has seen him miss the last three games.
Forward Cameron Porter remains out for the rest of the 2017 campaign with a broken fibula as Sporting KC looks to wrest first place in the Western Conference away from the Whitecaps.
For the Whitecaps, influential midfielder Matias Laba is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL suffered in August while defender David Edgar is also out with a PCL and MCL tear sustained in late 2016.
Kickoff for tonight’s match is set for 8 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Kansas City Plus and FOX Sports Midwest Plus while Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1840 AM (Spanish) will have the call on the radio.
