Major League Soccer will kick off its 21st season on Sunday with all 20 teams in action. Six of those teams will feature on national television beginning with an MLS Cup rematch of the Portland Timbers and Columbus Crew at 3:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Sporting Kansas City will then take on the Seattle Sounders FC at 6 p.m. CT on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Fans in Kansas City are encouraged to attend the official watch party at No Other Pub in the Kansas City Power and Light District. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the event, emceed by SKCTV's Nate Bukaty, will feature drink/food specials and giveaways.
The final national TV will showcase the new-look LA Galaxy against four-time MLS Cup champion D.C. United. That match will kick off at 9 p.m. CT on UniMas.
MLS Fantasy Soccer Manager is back for 2016 with some key changes to note:
- Reduced player roster size to 16
- New stat categories — Points for defenders including blocked shots, Points for taking shots, Points for 35 passes at a 85% completion rate and more
- Weekly MLS Store gift card awarded to the person with the most points at the end of each "Round"
- All other prizes continue including the Supporters league. Players are automatically registered when they enter and must choose a team to play with.
