When Cassius Cruz Dwyer was born on September 10, 2016, it was no surprise to see professional athletes offering their congratulations to his parents Dom Dwyer and Sydney Leroux. Both Dom and Sydney are major figures in American soccer with Sydney having represented the U.S. Women's National Team 75 times since 2011 and Dom scoring more than 50 goals in all competitions for Sporting KC since bursting on to the scene in 2013.
But the birth of baby Cassius was not limited to just the soccer world as five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant offered his congratulations to Dom and Sydney on Monday via Instagram.
This isn't the first time the World Cup champion and NBA champion have crossed paths. If a soccer career doesn't work out for Cassius, perhaps Kobe could teach him a few things on the hardwood?
