On Wednesday, April 21, Sporting Kansas City welcomed over 60 media members to Children's Mercy Park for the club's annual Media Day.
The day consisted of watching training, a Q&A with Manager & Sporting Director Peter Vermes, interviews with all Sporting KC players and President & CEO Jake Reid, lunch featuring concessions items at Children's Mercy Park and a media gift.
The event marked the first time since March of 2020 that players were available to media in an in-person setting. All media in attendance received a rapid test upon arrival, were required to wear masks at all times and maintain a distance of at least six feet from the Sporting KC players and coaches.
Sporting KC is set to take on Orlando City SC in the club's 2021 home opener on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be televised nationally on FS1 and FOX Deportes, while Sports Radio 810 WHB and La Grande 1340 AM will carry the game locally on the radio.
