The Kansas City Royals and Sporting Kansas City are teaming up to offer co-branded apparel as part of special ticket packages for local fans to support their hometown teams on April 13 at Kauffman Stadium and April 14 at Children’s Mercy Park.
Through this joint initiative, both teams will combine an exclusive collector’s item with a discounted ticket as Sporting and the Royals each take on opponents which finished in first place in 2018.
Saturday, April 13: KC Royals vs. Cleveland Indians at 6:15 p.m. CT
Sunday, April 14: Sporting KC vs. New York Red Bulls at 6 p.m. CT
On Saturday, April 13, the Royals will host AL Central rivals Cleveland Indians for Sporting KC Night at The K and fans will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket package that includes a custom designed beanie featuring both the Royals and Sporting logos. On Sunday, April 14, Sporting Kansas City will welcome Supporters’ Shield holders New York Red Bulls for a nationally-televised match-up on FS1 and fans can take advantage of a ticket package that includes a co-branded scarf featuring both the Royals and Sporting logos. Both ticket packages are independently offered and must be purchased separately. Tickets are only valid for the respective team/date purchased. Sporting Kansas City, the 2013 MLS Cup champions, and the Kansas City Royals, 2015 World Series champions, each open their 2019 seasons at home after preseason preparations in Arizona. Royals’ catchers and pitchers report to Surprise, Ariz., for the start of Spring Training on Wednesday in preparation for a March 28 home opener at The K, while Sporting Kansas City returned from nearby Scottsdale, Ariz., on Monday in advance of the club’s Concacaf Champions League clash against Toluca at Children’s Mercy Park on Thursday night.
