Sporting Kansas City midfielder Remi Walter received a special honor over the weekend, with the Frenchman having his name emblazoned on the sports complex in his hometown of Tomblaine, France.

Tomblaine is a suburb of Nancy in northeastern France and is home to the club where Walter began his playing career: AS Nancy Lorraine. The club’s home stadium, Stade Marcel Picot, is located in Tomblaine which has led to soccer becoming a large part of the community.
Joined by current New York City FC defender and fellow Tomblaine native, Maxime Chanot, Walter enjoyed a warm welcome back to the city where he made his professional breakthrough in 2013. The 27-year-old recorded 78 appearances in all competitions for AS Nancy before being transferred to OGC Nice in 2016.
