Sporting Kansas City will play its first scrimmage of the 2016 preseason, presented by Children's Mercy, on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT against FC Tucson (USL Premier Development League) at Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona. Players and coaches arrived in Arizona over the weekend for the first phase of preseason training, which runs through Feb. 8.
Starting Wednesday, Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members will have access to an exclusive pre-sale for Venue Passes at the 2016 Centennial Copa America, to be held across the United States from June 3-26. The pre-sale will begin Wednesday at noon local venue time for each of the 10 host cities and last through Monday, Feb. 1. A Venue Pass is a ticket to all matches in a specific venue, excluding the championship match at MetLife Stadium. Venue Passes will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, Feb. 3, at noon local venue time. Sporting KC Season Ticket Members interested in purchasing a Venue Pass can contact their customer service representative.
Beginning Thursday at 10 a.m. CT, Sporting Kansas City Season Ticket Members will have access to an exclusive pre-sale for all 17 regular season home matches at Children's Mercy Park. Single-game tickets for the first nine home matches will be available to the general public beginning Monday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. CT. Individuals who place deposits for season tickets or group tickets for the 2016 season will receive priority consideration for obtaining single-game tickets to Sporting KC home matches. SportingStyle will hold a warehouse sale in the Boulevard Members Club at Children's Mercy Park this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. All regular-priced items will be on sale for at least 10 percent off, with select products on sale up to 50 percent off, while supplies last. Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler and the United States Men's National Team will meet Iceland for an international friendly on Sunday at StubHub Center in Carson, California. The match is set to kick off at 2:45 p.m. CT with national television coverage on ESPN2, UniMas and Univision Deportes. It will be the Americans' first match of 2016 as Jurgen Klinsmann's side begins preparation for two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March and the 2016 Centennial Copa America.
Tonight, Children's Mercy Park will hold a job fair to hire part-time event staff employees for the 2016 season. The job fair will be held from 5:30 - 9 p.m. in the Ameritas Shield Club (One Sporting Way, Kansas City, Kansas). Several departments will be interviewing for part-time positions, including Guest Services, Parking Operations, Building Services, Sporting Style and Legends Hospitality. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
