Sporting Kansas City concluded the 2017 MLS regular season with a 2-1 defeat at Real Salt Lake on Sunday, finishing in fifth place in the Western Conference. Manager Peter Vermes' men will now make their seventh consecutive appearance in the MLS Cup Playoffs as the No. 5 seed, visiting No. 4-seed Houston Dynamo at 8:30 p.m. CT Thursday in the Western Conference Knockout Round at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Thursday's single-elimination showdown will be televised live on FOX Sports Kansas City, FOX Sports Midwest and UniMas. Listeners can also catch the contest live on Sports Radio 810 WHB (English) and La Grande 1340 AM (Spanish), with The Final Whistle Postgame Show airing immediately after the match.
If Sporting KC wins in Houston on Thursday, the club will host the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 29 or Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Children’s Mercy Park. Sporting KC Season Ticket Members who opted in for the playoffs will be contacted by their client service executive today. In addition, single-game tickets for the potential home playoff match will go on sale to the general public today at noon CT via SeatGeek.com.
The Swope Park Rangers advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday with a penalty shootout victory over Phoenix Rising FC at Swope Soccer Village. Led by head coach Nikola Popovic, the Rangers will host now Sacramento Republic FC at 4:00 p.m. CT on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park. Tickets for the Western Conference Semifinal are available via SeatGeek.com.

The Sporting KC Academy continues its 2017-18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy campaign on Saturday with a tripleheader against Real Colorado at Fort Hays State University Soccer Stadium in Hays, Kansas.
