2016: Made 20 regular-season appearances, including 12 starts, scoring six goals and adding two assists. Earned a penalty in the season opener against Portland Timbers 2 on March 26 before scoring his first goal for the club on April 2 against Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Suffered a hamstring injury in that match that ruled him out for nine games. Made his return on June 12 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. Scored his second goal of the season with the game-winner against Orange County Blues FC on July 23 and scored again on July 30 in the 2-1 win over San Antonio FC. Kelly had a goal and an assist against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Sept. 10 before adding his fifth goal of the season on Sept. 18 with the game-winner against OKC Energy FC. Tallied for the third straight game against Tulsa on Sept. 21 before adding his second assist in the regular-season finale vs. Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Sept. 24. He made four appearances in the USL Cup Playoffs, starting three and adding two goals. Scored the game-winner in extra time of the Western Conference Semifinal against Orange County Blues FC on Oct. 9 before adding the third goal in the 3-0 Conference Final victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Oct. 15.
2015: Appeared in 26 games, including 22 starts, scoring a team-best 11 goals and adding two assists for the Charleston Battery. His 11 goals also placed him tied for eighth in USL in scoring. Kelly tallied in Charleston’s season opener – a 3-2 win over Toronto FC II, and scored again in the Battery’s third game of the season against Harrisburg as his side won their opening three games of the season. Kelly netted three game-winners, coming against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on May 9, in a two-goal performance against the Harrisburg City Islanders on July 8 and against the Wilmington Hammerheads on July 18. Kelly also produced a second two-goal performance against Harrisburg on June 27. He scored his 42nd all-time USL goal in the regular-season finale against the Charlotte Independence, becoming the new USL all-time top scorer. Kelly started both of Charleston’s Playoff games, scoring against the Richmond Kickers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. At the conclusion of the season, Kelly was named to the USL All-League Second Team.
In the U.S. Open Cup, Kelly made two appearances, producing a game-winning goal and assist performance against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the Third Round on May 28 before also tallying in a 4-4 tie with MLS side Orlando City SC in the Fourth Round, where, despite also converting his penalty, Charleston fell 8-7 on spot kicks. His goal against Fort Lauderdale saw Kelly tie a modern era Open Cup record by scoring in his fifth straight competition.
2014: Made 19 appearances, starting all but one for the Charleston Battery. Kelly scored a team-best 10 goals, which also placed him seventh in the USL scoring chart. He scored his first goal of the season with a late equalizer against New York Red Bulls II on April 18. Kelly was shown a red card against Pittsburgh on May 24 after receiving two yellow cards but got himself back on the scoresheet against LA Galaxy II on June 14. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Arizona United SC on July 26 before also netting twice – including the game-winner – in a 3-2 victory over the Orange County Blues FC on Aug. 13. Kelly scored a hat trick in a 4-0 win against Pittsburgh on Aug. 30 before notching his 10th goal of the season in the regular-season finale against the Richmond Kickers on Sept. 13. Despite Kelly’s best efforts, Charleston fell to Richmond in the USL Cup Playoffs Quarterfinals, scoring a goal to force the game to extra time before eventually falling 2-1. Kelly was named to the USL All-League First Team at the end of the season.
Kelly made one appearance in the U.S. Open Cup, scoring a brace against Orlando City SC U-23s on May 28 in the Third Round, bringing the tie to extra time and penalties, with Orlando running out 12-11 winners.
2013: Played in 23 games for the Charleston Battery, tallying 11 goals and three assists. Kelly scored his first goal of the season in Charleston’s second match, coming in a 4-0 win over Antigua Barracuda FC on April 21, before scoring in just the second minute against the Wilmington Hammerheads on May 12. Kelly scored the only goal in 1-0 win against the Houston Dynamo Reserves on May 19 in a result that counted toward the USL standings. He tallied either a goal or an assist in five consecutive games stretching from July 12-28. He recorded assists in three consecutive games against Orlando City SC on July 12, VSI Tampa Bay FC on July 14 and Dutch Lions FC on July 20 before netting twice, including the game-winner, against Arizona United SC on July 25 and adding another goal against the Orange County Blues FC on July 28. Kelly scored four goals in Charleston’s final four games of the regular season, tallying the game-winner against the Richmond Kickers on Aug. 4, a consolation goal against the OC Blues on Aug. 9 and a brace against Barracuda FC on Aug. 16. Kelly appeared in each of Charleston’s two USL Cup Playoff games, scoring the opening goal in their 2-1 quarterfinal win over the OC Blues.
Kelly appeared in all three of the Battery’s U.S. Open Cup games, scoring in Charleston’s 5-2 defeat to MLS side Real Salt Lake in the Fourth Round on June 12.
2012: Made 17 appearances in the USL regular season for the Charleston Battery, scoring five goals and adding two assists. Kelly tallied his first goal of the season against Antigua Barracuda FC on May 4 before adding his second strike against Pittsburgh on May 31. He added the game-winning assist in Charleston’s next game against Dutch Lions FC on June 2 before again scoring against Barracuda FC on June 15. Kelly scored his fourth goal of the season with the game-winner against the Wilmington Hammerheads on July 14 after coming off the bench at halftime and added his second assist in another matchup against Wilmington on Aug. 3. He added his fifth goal of the season in the penultimate regular-season game with a late goal against the Rochester Rhinos on Aug. 11.
Kelly made two appearances in the U.S. Open Cup, scoring in a 2-1 Second-Round win over Reading United AC on May 23 before also playing in the 3-0 loss to the New York Red Bulls in the Third Round on May 30.
2011: Appeared in 22 games for the Charleston Battery in the USL regular season, tallying five goals and one assist in his first season with the club. After signing for the club on March 16, Kelly made his debut in the club’s season opener against the Charlotte Eagles on April 9. He scored his first goal for the club against the Richmond Kickers on May 24 and added his second a month later against the Wilmington Hammerheads on June 24. He scored a last-minute winner in a 2-1 win over Wilmington on July 14 before striking in the final two regular-season games against Orlando City SC on Aug. 6 and the Charlotte Eagles on Aug. 12 – where he scored the winner and also recorded an assist. Kelly started in the USL Cup Playoffs Quarterfinal against Orlando City SC on Aug. 21, but was sent off after being shown a second yellow card in the 102nd minute as Orlando ran out 3-1 winners after extra time.
In the U.S. Open Cup, Kelly appeared off the bench in the 1-0 Second-Round loss to Orlando City SC on June 21.
Before USL: Prior to joining Charleston, Kelly played for Tivoli Gardens FC in his native Jamaica. He made 15 appearances for the senior team, scoring three goals after leading the Under-21 Jamaican Premier League with 15 goals in the 2010-11 season.
