MLS:
<strong>2012: </strong>Harrington started nine of the 11 games he appeared in during the 2012 season. With his most recent start on September 22, Harrington surpassed 12,000 minutes played in MLS competition (including playoffs). Harrington is the fourth current Sporting KC player to break the 12,000 minutes played barrier in their MLS career, joining Bobby Convey, Kei Kamara and Paulo Nagamura. Harrington becomes the only active Sporting KC player to have appeared in 12,000 or more minutes for the club in MLS competition (including playoffs). In addition, Harrington surpassed Matt McKeon for ninth on Sporting KC’s all-time regular season minutes played chart with 11,633 and tied Josh Wolff for ninth place in regular season games started on Sporting KC’s all-time chart with 128. Harrington also tied Mo Johnston for eighth place in regular season games played on Sporting KC’s all-time chart with 149.<br>
<br>
<strong>2011:</strong> Surpassed 10,000 minutes played in Sporting Kansas City career during LIVE<strong>STRONG</strong> Sporting Park's inaugural match on June 9th. Appeared in a total of 23 matches in 2011, 16 of them starts. <br>
<br>
<strong>2010:</strong> Started 29 matches and recorded four assists. Was a staple at the team’s left back position as he started every game prior to the season finale. He was named the Cauldron’s Man of Month for June. Also played the full 90 in 2-1 win over Manchester United in summer friendly and appeared as a second half substitute against Colorado in U.S. Open Cup play-in match.<br>
<br>
<strong>2009:</strong> Appeared in 27 matches (17 starts). Finished tied for third on the team with three assists, including one in the team's 2-2 comeback draw against the Chicago Fire. <br>
<br>
<strong>2008:</strong> Started all 30 matches and totaled 2,597 minutes of playing time. Contributed 2 goals and 2 assists, including the game-tying goal vs. Chicago on October 5 and the game-winning assist at Chicago on April 20 in a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire. <br>
<br>
<strong>2007:</strong> Selected in 1st round (3rd overall) of 2007 MLS SuperDraft. Won team Rookie of the Year honors after appearing in 29 games (27 starts) and recording 3 goals and 4 assists. Scored first career goal just 3 minutes into first MLS game.<br>
<br>
<strong>NATIONAL TEAM:</strong> Was one of nine original members of the U-17 Residency Program at the Bradenton Academy in Bradenton, FL. Played for the U.S. at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland. Represented America on the U-20 team at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland under coach Sigi Schmid. Also spent time playing on the U-23 team. Was as an alternate for the U.S. Men’s Olympic team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. <br>
<br>
<strong>COLLEGE:</strong> Attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 2003-2006. Was a second team All-ACC selection and an NSCAA/adidas All-South Region choice as a junior in 2005. As a senior in 2006, was a preseason finalist for the Hermann trophy, which is awarded to the top male and female Division I soccer players in the U.S. <br>

<strong>YOUTH:</strong> Member of the ‘86 ODP Region III Team from 2000-2003. Participated in the adidas Elite Soccer Program Camp in 2002. Member of the North Carolina ODP State Team from 1998-2002. Played with Raleigh’s CASL Elite throughout youth. Member of the Bradenton Academy.<br>
<br>
<strong>PERSONAL: </strong>Son of Malinda and Mike Harrington. Has one younger sister, Marybeth, 15. Majored in exercise and sport science at UNC. Devout Christian who values generosity, determination and gratitude. Enjoys listening to music (especially R&B), reading, playing poker and working on his golf game during his time off the pitch. Favorite Kansas City restaurant is Eggtc. Favorite soccer player growing up was Thierry Henry, and favorite club is Arsenal. Best soccer memory is scoring three minutes into his professional career. Always puts left shin guard and left cleat on first when preparing for matches. <br>
