Winger Fredinho Mompremier ended his debut season with Sporting Kansas City II in style, earning a spot on the USL Championship Team of the Week bench this afternoon.
The 23-year-old Haitian recorded assists in each of Sporting Kansas City II's last two matches of the 2020 campaign last week, vaulting his team-leading assist tally to four on the season. Mompremier did wonderfully to set up Wilson Harris' first-half goal in a thrilling 2-1 road victory at Indy Eleven last Wednesday before setting up Tyler Freeman in the second half of Saturday's 2-1 loss at Group E winners Louisville City FC.
Mompremier appeared in all 16 of Sporting KC II's USL Championship matches during an unprecedented and abbreviated 2020 campaign, including 12 starts. He tallied his lone goal of the year in a resolute 2-1 away win over his former club FC Tulsa on Aug. 29 and logged well over 1,000 minutes played under third-year head coach Paulo Nagamura.
Sporting KC II ended the season with a 5-10-1 record, notably collecting five wins away from home in the process. The club was tasked with playing 14 of 16 regular season fixtures on the road and handed defeats to a number of USL Championship heavyweights, including Indy and Louisville.
