Swope Park Rangers defender Oumar Ballo has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 27 of the 2017 season.
Ballo scored the opening goal in Saturday’s playoff-clinching 3-1 road victory over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field, sending a well-placed shot into the corner for his first career goal.
Sporting KC forward Kharlton Belmar is also named on the bench of the Team of the Week after producing a goal and an assist in the rain-soaked match. Belmar set up Ballo’s opener before notching the game-winning goal just 56 seconds later after being sent through on goal by Christian Duke.
The Rangers are back in action tomorrow night when the side hosts LA Galaxy II at Swope Soccer Village. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT with tickets available via SeatGeek.com and a live stream available on YouTube.com/USL.
