Two Sporting Kansas City players received MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi honors on Thursday after their performances in the team's 3-0 demolishing of D.C. United on Tuesday Night at Children's Mercy Park.

Defender Robert Voloder was named to the Team of the Week, while midfielder Erik Thommy earned a spot on the Team of the Week Bench. Voloder's selection is the first of his career after he opened his Sporting scoring account with a 70th minute strike from inside the 18. Thommy is making his second Team of the Week appearance after coming on as a second-half substitute and creating a match-high four chances.

Joining up with Sporting KC ahead of the 2022 campaign after developing in the FC Cologne Academy in Germany and a season with NK Maribor in Slovenia's PrvaLiga, Voloder had started six of 10 appearances for Sporting before Tuesday night. In his best performance as a member of the club so far, the 21-year-old paced the club in touches (86), accurate passes (63), passes into the final third (17), final third entries (13) and possessions won (nine) en route to a win over D.C. United.

After earning a Team of the Week presented by Audi appearance for his play against the San Jose Earthquakes on Aug. 27, Thommy receives a second selection in just nine matches played. After entering the contest after halftime, Thommy did what he does best, generating chances for his teammates. Although he did not receive credit for an assist, Thommy's corner kick led to Voloder's goal and his touch in the D.C. box was a part of the sequence leading up to Daniel Salloi's late goal. In 45 minutes played, Thommy created a match-high four chances and had five touches in the opponent's box.
