Career Summary

2021: Selected by Sporting Kansas City in the Third Round (77th overall) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. Roberts joined up with the first team after helping Marshall win the NCAA College Cup national championship in the spring, before signing with SKC II in the summer.

College: Roberts enjoyed a wildly successful career at Marshall University, helping the team win their first-ever NCAA College Cup national championship in May 2021. Roberts scored the game-winning goal in the final three rounds of the tournament as Marshall upset Georgetown, North Carolina and Indiana by 1-0 scorelines to claim the title.

Roberts, a native of Langport, England and a product of Plymouth Argyle FC’s academy, recorded 19 goals and 20 assists in four seasons for Marshall from 2017-2020, making 18 appearances each season. As a junior in 2019, Roberts led the Thundering Herd to the team’s first ever NCAA Tournament appearance with a 16-3-3 record after winning the Conference USA regular season and tournament championships. His 10 assists in 2019 tied the school’s single-season record en route to earning All-Conference USA Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team honors.

Youth: Roberts was previously a member of the Plymouth Argyle academy in his native England.
