Sporting Kansas City signed Soni Mustivar in February 2015. During his first season with the club, he garnered Sporting KC's co-Defensive MVP honor and posted a 15-5-6 record as a starter in all competitions. He also led MLS with more than six interceptions per 90 minutes played. In his second MLS campaign, he started 29 of 30 appearances in all competitions.
The defensive midfielder joined MLS from Romanian club Petrolul Ploiesti and has made 11 appearances for the Haiti Men's National Team. He was a youth international for France at the under-20 level and holds dual citizenship in both France and Haiti. Mustivar was named to the Haiti Men's National Team for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, marking Haiti's debut appearance in the prestigious tournament.
2017: MLS regular season: Started two of 14 appearances and recorded one assist (260 minutes played). Made his season debut in a 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on March 18. Assisted Dom Dwyer's late goal in a 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on April 9. Open Cup: Played the final 36 minutes in a 2-0 win against Houston Dynamo on June 28. 2016: Started 29 of 30 appearances in all competitions (2517 minutes played). MLS regular season: Started 24 of 25 appearances (2095 minutes played). Open Cup: Started two matches (178 minutes played). Started and played 120 minutes in a 2-1 extra time win over Minnesota United FC on June 15. Started and played 58 minutes in a 3-1 fifth round defeat at the Houston Dynamo on June 29. CONCACAF Champions League: Started and played 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw at Central FC on Aug. 16. Started and played 64 minutes in a 3-0 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Aug. 23. MLS Cup Playoffs: Started and played 90 minutes in a 1-0 knockout round loss at Seattle Sounders FC on Oct. 27.
2015: MLS regular season: Started 20 of 25 appearances and recorded two assists (1838 minutes played). Made his Sporting KC debut with a substitute appearance in the 89th minute of a 0-0 draw against Portland on March 21. Made his first MLS start on May 3 in a 1-0 win over Chicago. Set an MLS record in the Opta era (2011-present) with 20 interceptions in a 1-0 win at Vancouver on July 12, earning MLS Team of the Week honors (Week 19). Recorded the first two assists of his MLS career, including a 94th-minute game-winner to Paulo Nagamura, in a 4-3 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Aug. 15 as Sporting KC came from two goals behind after the 80th minute to complete one of the best comebacks in MLS history. MLS Cup Playofs: Started and played 120 minutes in Sporting KC's 7-6 penalty kick shootout loss at Portland after a 2-2 draw through regulation. Converted his penalty kick in the shootout. Open Cup: Earned five starts with one goal and played the entirety of every match. Started and played 90 minutes in a 1-0 fourth round win over Saint Louis FC on June 16. Started and played 90 minutes in a 6-2 fifth round win over FC Dallas on July 1. Started and played 90 minutes in a 3-1 quarterfinal win over the Houston Dynamo on July 21. Started and played 90 minutes in a 3-1 semifinal win over Real Salt Lake on Aug. 12, scoring his first goal for the club to level the match in the first half. Started and played 66 minutes in a championship win over the Philadelphia Union on Sept. 30 as Sporting KC prevailed 7-6 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in regulation.
2011-2014 (Romania):
Mustivar moved to FC Petrolul Ploiesti in 2011 and played three seasons in Romania’s Liga I. Recorded 61 appearances with two goals in league competition, while also earning eight appearances in the UEFA Europa League. Started in Petrolul’s triumph in the 2012-13 Romanian Cup Final and captained the squad in the 2013 Romanian Supercup against Liga I champions Steaua Bucuresti.
2008-2011 (France):
Began his professional career as a teenager with SC Bastia in France’s Ligue 2 during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. Made 22 league appearances over two seasons, in addition to two appearances in the French League Cup and an appearance in the French Cup. Went on loan to Orleans during the 2010-11 season.

Mustivar has made 11 appearances for the Haiti Men’s National Team after representing France at the U-20 level. He has been named to the Haiti Men's National Team for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, marking Haiti's debut appearance in the prestigious tournament. 2014: Played in three matches at the 2014 CFU Caribbean Cup in November to help Haiti secure a third place finish and qualify for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. 2015: Played 30 minutes as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica on Nov. 13 as Haiti began the semifinal round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Started and played 71 minutes in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying loss to Jamaica on Nov. 17. 2016: Started and played 59 minutes on Jan. 8 as Haiti defeated Trinidad and Tobago 1-0 to qualify for the 2016 Centennial Copa America, to be held in the United States from June 3-26. Started and played 90 minutes in a 0-0 World Cup qualifying draw with Panama on March 25. Started and played 45 minutes in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Panama on March 29.
Prior to making his international debut with Haiti in 2013, Mustivar was a youth international in the French national team system. He represented France at the under-20 level during the 2009 Mediterranean Games.
